Gas springs are sub-divided into push-type and pull-type gas springs.
Gas springs are used if dampers or components without external energy have to be pushed, pulled, lowered or raised with manual force. They are maintenance-free, ready-to-install and available ex-stock.
Push-type gas springs are individually filled to a specific pressure in order to achieve the correct nitrogen filling on the side of the piston rod when the piston rod is pushed in and thus obtain the correct increase in force. The increase in force depends on the ratio of the piston rod diameter to the cylinder diameter and is approximately linear.
Pull-type gas springs are always used if push-type gas springs cannot be used due to a lack of space. They are effective in the direction of traction and can be individually adapted to the required pressure.
Properties:
- Individual filling by valve technology
- Available with valve
- No maintenance
- No separate construction work
- Calculation program for individual designs
Please refer to the respective data sheet for more detailed properties of the individual gas springs.
GS-8 to GS-70
ACE industrial push-type gas springs are maintenance-free, ready-to-install, sealed systems, filled with pressurised nitrogen gas. They provide optimum support for forces of 10 to 13,000 N with body diameters of 8 to 70 mm.
Series GS-8 to GS-70 push-type gas springs are pressurised to customers’ individual pressure requirements. The pressure can be subsequently adjusted using the in-built valve. These push-type gas springs are primarily used in industrial applications in mechanical engineering, medical technology, and in the electrical, automotive and furniture industry.

Gas spring - pull type GZ-15 to GZ-40
ACE pull-type gas springs have a body diameter of 15 to 40 mm and work in the opposite way to push-type gas springs. The gas pressure in the cylinder draws the piston rod inwards.
Series GZ-15 to GZ-40 push-type gas springs are maintenance-free, self-contained mechanical elements, which are fitted with a valve as standard. They cover forces between 40 and 5,000 N and are primarily used in mechanical engineering and in medical technology.
